The towns along the Delaware River on both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania sides are quaint and cute. They’re filled with all kinds of unique shops and restaurants. I checked out Frenchtown, NJ recently, where I really love The Book Garden, a cute little bookstore with a friendly shop dog. Checking out their website, I also learned that Elizabeth Gilbert lives and also owns a store in Frenchtown. Who knew?
While in town, I checked out Lovin’ Oven, an eclectic little restaurant offering mainstream options, as well as food for vegetarians, vegans, and people with gluten issues. I had a nice time, though service was pretty slow. The food, however, was fantastic! If you go, I’d recommend the roasted chickpea tacos – the green goddess sauce was so yummy. I asked if they sell it but alas, you can only get it at the restaurant.
The decor was really lovely too, and with my new habit of trying to take my camera everywhere I go (…almost!), I grabbed a couple of shots as the afternoon light poured in through the windows.
