Flocks of egrets fly in as the sun starts to set
The egrets arrive as the sun dips low, claiming their spots and settling in during the last wisps of dusk. Disputes break out constantly in bursts of flurried wings, sharp squawks, and stabbing beaks. Chaos flares, then dissolves quickly.

Great Egret pushing a Snowy Egret off its branch
All of this unfolds improbably between a roaring roadway filled with hurtling cars and trucks and a condo building complex with evening walkers drifting home, all unaware of the wildness tucked into the edges of our urban sprawl.
- Two snowies come in to the same branch…
- And they both have thoughts about this!
- This is what post sunset here feels like
- What a hair-do (feather-do)!
- Goof
- Sunset glow
